From the Carey Police Department:
To decrease the spread of COVID-19 virus in our area and keep our first responders such as Police Officers healthy and able to continue to serve, effective March 17 2020 the Carey Police Department will be responding to emergency calls only. Please help us in these coming weeks in the use of situational discretion when initiating a call for service. Non-emergency reports that do not require a physical police presence may be handled over the phone by an officer on our non-emergency phone line at (419) 396-7678 . If you still request an officers presence and are able, we ask that you meet the officer outside upon his/her arrival to report your incident. Please do not hesitate to call 911 in the event of an emergency and an officers presence is indeed needed. Officer protocols for an emergency will remain the same with no hesitation.
Remember to be kind to each other and to help each other in this Village of Carey we call home.
